About UsedCarsDurban

the whole floor, one website

One website for the used cabs sitting on real dealership floors across greater Durban. Stock comes straight from each dealership's own stock system, so the prices, photos and specs are the dealer's own. You browse in one place, check what you can afford in twenty seconds, and apply directly with the dealer that owns the car.

No. Every car on this site belongs to a dealership, and the dealership is named on the car. We never sit in the middle of the deal. When you enquire or apply, it goes to that dealer's team and you deal with them directly, at their price.

From the stock systems the dealerships already use to run their own websites. When a dealer loads a car, it appears here. When it sells, it disappears. Nobody retypes anything, which is exactly why the details stay right.

Greater Durban, from uMhlanga down to Toti and up the hill through Westville, Pinetown and Hillcrest, with a few floors from further up the road. The network is growing, so if your part of town looks thin today, check back. Run a dealership? Tune us and we will plug your floor in.

Email info@usedcarsdurban.co.za. For a specific cab, use the Tune the dealer form on its page. It lands with the dealership that owns it, which is faster than asking us.

The money tune

our own sums, not a bank

You tune us four numbers: gross monthly income, monthly expenses and debt repayments, your deposit, and the car price (filled in if you opened it from a car). We run a standard vehicle finance calculation and show you an indicative monthly all-in plus an honest read: likely to qualify, close, or a stretch. It all happens in your browser in about twenty seconds. It is our calculator, not a bank, and nothing is sent anywhere.

No. Nothing you type is sent to a credit bureau, a bank or anyone else, and there is no credit enquiry of any kind. It is a calculator. The only regulated credit enquiry happens later, with the dealer, once you have submitted a full application and given written consent.

Indicative, not a quote. We assume a typical used-car interest rate over 72 months, add a realistic insurance estimate and the standard monthly admin fee, and estimate your take-home pay from your gross. Your actual rate depends on your profile and on whoever finances the car. The assumptions are printed under every result, no fine-print games.

Amber means you are close, and a finance consultant can often make it work with a longer term, a bigger deposit or a different rate, so leave your number and they will tune you. Red means the honest answer is that this cab may stretch you, and we show you cabs closer to your budget instead. Nobody gets a hard no and a closed door, and nobody gets marked down for looking.

The proper application

six steps on your phone

If your money tune comes back green, you can do the full application online in six short steps, on your phone. It asks for what a finance desk actually needs: personal details, address, employment, a line-by-line budget, banking details and a trace contact. Submit, and it lands directly with the finance desk of the dealership selling that car. They take it from there.

The finance team at the dealership you applied to. They use it to arrange the finance on their side. We keep only a minimal record for follow-up, not your full application. Processing happens with your explicit POPIA consent, and the credit enquiry authorisation you give applies to the dealer and its finance partners, not to us.

No. It saves automatically on your phone as you type, so you can close it at the robots and pick it up on the couch. Your draft stays on your device, not on our servers.

Only if you are married in community of property. In that case a credit agreement legally needs your spouse's consent and details, and an application without them stalls. We ask upfront so your approval does not get stuck in back-and-forth later.

Typically your SA ID, proof of residence not older than three months, your latest payslip and three months' bank statements. The dealer's finance team confirms the exact list when they tune you back.

Buying and selling

no stories, no strangers in parking lots

Yes, with the dealership that owns it. Tune the dealer from the car's page and their sales team sets it up. Every car's page tells you which dealer has it and where they are.

That is between you and the dealer, same as walking onto the floor. The price shown is the dealer's advertised retail price from their own system, so at least you are negotiating from the real number, not a made-up internet special.

Tell us about your cab on the sell-your-car page and we put it to the dealerships on the network, who bid against each other for it. If one of them wants it, they contact you directly and you deal with them. No classifieds strangers, no meeting someone in a parking lot with your logbook.

Dealer stock is inspected and prepared, finance and trade-ins are handled for you, the paperwork including registration is done by people who do it daily, and you have recourse through the Consumer Protection Act and the Motor Industry Ombudsman. Private deals can be lukka until they are not.
